Merchant Fees: Receiving and Moving Bitcoin

ÉclairBTC is designed to make accepting Bitcoin simple and inexpensive.

When your ÉclairBTC account is connected to your Blink Lightning wallet, customer payments are received over the Lightning Network and deposited directly into your Blink Bitcoin balance. We help every ÉclairBTC merchant set up their own non-custodial Blink wallet so they stay in control of their funds.

When a customer pays an ÉclairBTC  invoice:

There is no receiving fee deducted from the merchant's payment.

For example:

Customer invoice: 100,000 sats
Merchant receives: 100,000 sats

The customer may pay a small Lightning routing fee when sending the payment. Blink currently charges the sender approximately 0.15% when a Lightning payment is delivered into a Blink wallet.

This means the merchant receives the full invoiced amount.

Bitcoin received through ÉclairBTC can remain in your non-custodial Blink Lightning wallet or be moved to a regular on-chain Bitcoin wallet.

We recommend the following on-chain Bitcoin wallet options:

• Trezor Wallet
• Bitkey Wallet

We only recommend on-chain Bitcoin wallets that are self-sovereign and secured by a hardware wallet, helping you maintain the highest level of security while keeping full control of your Bitcoin.

Moving Bitcoin from Blink to an on-chain Bitcoin wallet requires an on-chain fee.

Blink wallet uses Spark on the backend, and the current Spark fee is calculated as:

250 × Bitcoin network fee rate + 750 sats

The important part for merchants is that this fee is essentially flat — it does not increase based on how much Bitcoin you withdraw.

For example:

Bitcoin network fees change constantly, so the exact fee will be displayed in your Blink wallet before you confirm the withdrawal.

Imagine your business receives several ÉclairBTC payments and accumulates:

1,000,000 sats

There was no receiving fee deducted from those payments.

If you later move the entire 1,000,000 sats to your on-chain Bitcoin wallet while the Bitcoin network fee rate is 2 sat/vB, the withdrawal would cost approximately:

1,250 sats

That's approximately 0.125% of the 1,000,000 sats being moved.

Because the fee for transferring your Bitcoin from Blink Lightning wallet to your on-chain Bitcoin wallet is largely independent of the amount being transferred, merchants may want to:

Accept payments throughout the day or week → accumulate Bitcoin in Blink → periodically move a larger balance to your on-chain Bitcoin wallet.

This can make the effective cost of moving Bitcoin from your Blink Lightning wallet to your on-chain Bitcoin wallet extremely low.

Customer pays ÉclairBTC invoice → Bitcoin arrives in your non-custodial Blink wallet → periodically move your Bitcoin to your on-chain Bitcoin wallet.

There is no fee deducted from the merchant for receiving the Lightning payment, and moving accumulated Bitcoin to your on-chain Bitcoin wallet can cost only a few thousand sats depending on current Bitcoin network conditions.
